An Oklahoma native, now living in the beautiful islands of Hawaii, Staubus brings color to our lives through her artwork that vibrates with the energy of the tropics. Staubus’ Native American heritage plays a huge role in her life and taught her the importance of respect for all living things at a very young age. She began painting and drawing the world through her fascinated eyes and created her first oil painting at 12 years old. Her love for art continued through college where themes of nature remained prominent in her work. Staubus completed a BFA in Studio Art at Oklahoma State University in 2016 focusing on oil painting and drawing. Fish, faces, birds and flowers are common elements in her work because of their delicate, yet striking nature. Her paintings depict magical dream-like scenes where humans coexist with unlikely animal companions. Now 30, Staubus works out of her plant-filled home studio overlooking the city of Honolulu on the island of Oahu.
